{"name":"School of Witchcraft (Homebrew, Restricted)","overview":"\r\n[h1]Witchcraft[\/h1]\r\n\r\nBefore the times of prestigious magical institutions and universities, there were those who first discovered the arts of the arcane, in its raw and primal form. These wizards were the herald for a magical tradition known as Witchcraft. The wizards and witches who follow this tradition hone their magical skills through the acquisition of unique magics called Crafts, and later Grand Crafts, as well as learning spells the usual wizard would not be able to. Many who study the tradition of Witchcraft can be seen as either guides and village elders, or as sinister and dark practitioners of the arcane. However, while some places may be more accepting to students of witchcraft, other established universities or regions may have a much more demeaning view of these magical practitioners, even going so far as to hunt them down.\r\n\r\n[h1]Witchtongue[\/h1]\r\nBeginning when you select this tradition at 2nd level, you learn Witchtongue, the secret language of witches. You can speak the language and use it to leave hidden messages. You and others who know this language automatically spot such a message. Others spot the message\u2019s presence with a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check, but can\u2019t decipher it without magic.\r\n\r\n[h1]Coven Magic[\/h1]\r\nBeginning at 2nd level, you enter into a Coven, which helps to define what special field of witchcraft you adhere to. Your Coven grants you special abilities, one of which is the acquisition of many spells normally not known to the wizards who follow other magical traditions. Choose one of the following Covens:\r\n\r\n[b]Black Magic[\/b] (focuses on curses, toying with the minds of others, and the dead). Bard & Warlock - enchantment, evocation, necromancy\r\n\r\n[b]Green Magic[\/b] (focuses on aspects of nature, such as the elements, animals, and plantlife). Druid - conjuration, divination, transmutation\r\n\r\n[b]White Magic[\/b] (focuses on healing, medicine, and divine or heavenly qualities of both life and the world). Cleric - abjuration, divination, transmutation\r\n\r\nYou learn one cantrip of your choice from a Class associated with your Coven. Whenever you gain a wizard level, you can replace one of the wizard spells you add to your spellbook with a spell from your Coven\u2019s associated class, so long as it belongs to the schools associated with that coven. These spells are known as your Coven spells. The spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots. Any Coven spell you gain from this feature is considered a wizard spell for you, and you can cast them using a wizard spell slot, but other wizards can\u2019t copy Coven spells from your Grimoire into their own spellbooks, and any wizard feature that utilizes a spellbook does not utilize an Arcane Grimoire.\r\n\r\n[h1]Arcane Grimoire[\/h1]\r\nBeginning when you choose this tradition at 2nd level, you\u00a0gain an Arcane Grimoire, within which are your Coven\u00a0Spells as well as magical abilities, called Crafts. This\u00a0grimoire is separate from your spellbook, and any spell\r\nacquired through a Craft is treated as not being written in\u00a0your spellbook, but in your grimoire, as you would with\u00a0your Coven Spells. If your Arcane Grimoire becomes lost\u00a0or destroyed, you can make another one using the same\u00a0rules as you would for replacing a spellbook.\r\n\r\n[h1]Crafts[\/h1]\r\nYou learn two Crafts of your choice at 2nd level, which\u00a0are listed in the Crafts List at the end of this subclass. You\u00a0learn one additional Craft of your choice at 6th, 10th, and\u00a014th level. Each time you gain a wizard level, you can also\u00a0replace one Craft you know with a different one.\r\n\r\n[h1]Coven Familiarity[\/h1]\r\nBy 10th level, your time spent studying the ways of\u00a0witchcraft has granted you increased resilience and\u00a0willpower. You have advantage on Wisdom and Charisma\u00a0saving throws.\r\nAdditionally, your Coven grants you additional benefits\u00a0when interacting with certain creatures. You can add your\u00a0\u00a0Intelligence modifier to the result of any Charisma based\u00a0skill check you make when interacting with a creature\u00a0associated with your Coven.\r\n\r\n[b]Black Magic.[\/b] fiends, undead\r\n\r\n[b]Green Magic.[\/b] beasts, fey\r\n\r\n[b]White Magic.[\/b] celestials, good aligned humanoids.\r\n\r\n[h1]Grand Witch[\/h1]\r\nBy 14th level, you have mastered the magic of witchcraft.\r\nYou learn one Grand Craft of your choice, which are listed\r\nin the Grand Crafts List at the end of this subclass, and it is\r\nadded into your Arcane Grimoire.\r\n\r\n\r\n[h1]Crafts List[\/h1]\r\nThe following is the list of Crafts that are available for the Arcane Tradition: Witchcraft.\r\n\r\n[b]Ancient Longevity[\/b]\r\nYou suffer none of the frailty of old age, and you can\u2019t be\r\naged magically. Additionally, for every 5 years that pass,\r\nyour body ages only 1 year.\r\n\r\n[b]Arcane Attunement[\/b]\r\nChoose one of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire,\r\nlightning, necrotic, poison, radiant, or thunder. You gain\r\nresistance to that damage type. You can choose this craft\r\none additional time. When you do so, you must choose a\r\ndifferent damage type.\r\n\r\n[b]Beguiler[\/b]\r\nYou gain proficiency in the Insight skill, and you gain\r\nproficiency in your choice of either the Deception or\r\nPersuasion skill.\r\n\r\n[b]Cauldron[\/b]\r\nYou gain proficiency in the Herbalism Kit and Poisoner\u2019s\r\nKit. Additionally, as an action, you can conjure forth a\r\ncauldron with which to create potions and poisons in. This\r\ncauldron is summoned for 1 hour. Whenever you use your\r\nHerbalism Kit or Poisoner\u2019s Kit to create a potion or\r\npoison, you can create one additional potion or poison of\r\nthe same type. You can use this Craft once per short or\r\nlong rest.\r\n\r\n[b]Faithful Mount[\/b]\r\nOnce per short or long rest, you can cast the spell find\r\nsteed without expending a spell slot. When you do so, if\r\nyour mount has an Intelligence of 6 or higher, it gains the\r\nability to speak one language of your choice that you speak.\r\n\r\n[b]Hag\u2019s Movement[\/b]\r\nYour movement speed increases by 5 feet, and you can\r\nmove along vertical surfaces or upside down on your turn\r\nwithout falling during the move.\r\n\r\n[b]Hag\u2019s Stomach[\/b]\r\nYou are immune to the poisoned condition, and you can eat\r\nrotten food and tainted water without suffering any penalty.\r\n\r\n[b]Nature\u2019s Explorer[\/b]\r\nYou gain proficiency in the Nature skill. Additionally,\r\nmoving through nonmagical difficult terrain costs you no\r\nextra movement, and you can also move through\r\nnonmagical plants without being slowed by them and\r\nwithout taking damage from them if they have thorns,\r\nspines, or a similar hazard.\r\n\r\n[b]Night Witch[\/b]\r\nYou gain proficiency in the Stealth skill, and you can see in\r\ndim lighting within 60 feet of you as it if we\u2019re bright light,\r\nand in darkness as if it were dim light. You can\u2019t discern\r\ncolors in darkness, only shades of grey.\r\n\r\n[b]Pureblood[\/b]\r\nYou gain immunity to disease, and one per short or long\r\nrest, you can use your action to touch another creature\r\nsuffering from a disease, expending a spell slot of your\r\nchoice to remove the disease from them.\r\n\r\n[b]Trusted Companion[\/b]\r\nYou add the find familiar spell into your Arcane Grimoire.\r\nWhen you cast find familiar, your familiar gains additional\r\nhit points equal to half your wizard level, and your familiar\r\ncan read and speak every language that you speak.\r\n\r\n[b]Witch\u2019s Sight[\/b]\r\nYou can see through fog, mists, smoke, and similar\r\nobscurants without any penalties, and you can see into the\r\nEthereal Plane up to 30 feet.\r\n\r\n\r\n[b]Grand Grafts List[\/b]\r\nThe following is the list of Grand Crafts that are available\r\nfor the Arcane Tradition: Witchcraft.\r\n\r\n[b]Animal Shape[\/b]\r\nAs an action, you can cast the polymorph spell on yourself\r\nwithout expending a spell slot, though you can only\r\ntransform into a beast of CR 4 or lower. When you do so,\r\nyou still retain the ability to speak.\r\n\r\n[b]Covenous Duality[\/b]\r\nWhen you cast a Coven spell from your Arcane Grimoire\r\nwhich targets one creature, you can target two creatures\r\ninstead.\r\n\r\n[b]Craft Knowledge[\/b]\r\nChoose two Crafts from the Crafts List. You are considered\r\nto always know those Crafts, even if your Arcane Grimoire\r\nis destroyed or lost.\r\n\r\n[b]Hag Ally[\/b]\r\nBy spending one hour in ritual, you can summon either a\r\nsea hag, a green hag, or a night hag. In combat, and hag\r\nacts and moves as she chooses. The hag is friendly to you\r\nand your allies. At the end of one hour, or when the hag is\r\nreduced to zero hit points, it vanishes either in a burst of\r\nwater (sea hag), by melting (green hag), or in a plume of\r\ndark smoke (night hag).\r\nOnce you have used this feature, you cannot do so again\r\nuntil you finish a long rest.\r\n\r\n[b]Sacred Knowledge[\/b]\r\nYou gain resistance to your choice of either necrotic or\r\nradiant damage. You also add the dispel evil and good,\r\ngreater regeneration, and hallow spells into your Arcane\r\nGrimoire.\r\n\r\n[b]Shielded Mind[\/b]\r\nYou gain resistance to psychic damage, and you are\r\nimmune to magic that allows other creatures to read your\r\nthoughts, determine whether you are lying, know your\r\nalignment, or know your creature type. You can\r\ncommunicate telepathically with creatures within 30 feet of\r\nyou, provided that you both share at least one language.\r\nCreatures can telepathically communicate with you only if\r\nyou allow it.\r\n\r\n[b]Witch\u2019s Flight[\/b]\r\nYou gain a flying speed equal to your base movement speed.\r\n\r\n[b]Witch Speech[\/b]\r\nYou are considered to be permanently under the effects of\r\nthe tongues spell.\r\n","hitdice":"d4","hitpointsfirstlevel":"","hitpointsathigherlevels":"","armorproficiencies":"","weaponproficiences":"","tools":"","savingthrows":"","skills":"","equipment":"","spellcasting":"","features":"","subclasses":"","tabledata":"","tags":"","templateId":"25","blockId":"489424","world":"0741b052-677d-47e0-94e1-5d2c72b0bd70","folder":"","isShared":"on"}
