About the High Guard

The High Guard is a player community first and a fictional military organisation second. The structure exists to make games easier to organise, to give members a shared identity, and to turn ordinary game nights into remembered operations.

What kind of guild this is

We are ANZ-led, sci-fi focused, and built around organised play. Members can be casual, committed, new, returning, tactical, creative, lore-focused, or logistics-minded. The point is not to force everyone into one playstyle. The point is to give those playstyles a shared command frame.

Light milsim, not hard milsim

The High Guard uses:

branches of service;

ranks and appointments;

operation briefs;

comms discipline during events;

after-action reports;

campaign records;

awards and honours.

The High Guard does not use fake shouting, hazing, forced attendance, pointless saluting, or rank cosplay that gets in the way of playing.

Community standard

Members are expected to be mature enough to work with others, take direction during operations, and not turn small problems into guild-wide drama. Reliability matters more than talent. A steady player who communicates is worth more than a brilliant player who burns everyone out.

The fiction layer

In-universe, the High Guard serves the United Federated Commonwealth as a frontier defence and expeditionary force. Out-of-universe, that lore gives the guild an identity across games.
