druid subclass: Circle of the Shepherd
The druid comes with a great spell list that allows you to fill just about any role in a party. As a support character, you can't go wrong preparing spells like faerie fire, healing word, healing spirit, and enhance ability.

Speech of the Woods (2nd level): The Circle of the Shepherd gains the ability to converse with fey and beasts. You can read, speak, and write in Sylvan, plus you can understand and be understood by beasts. This essentially gives you a permanent version of the speak with animals spell. It doesn’t allow you to control beasts, but it does make them accessible as NPCs to interact with, opening the door for creating alliances with animals for aid in battle, or to act as informants, spy networks, or even just fluffy friends.
Spirit Totem (2nd level): Once per short or long rest, you can call upon an incorporeal spirit as a bonus action. The spirit can appear at any point you see within 60 feet and creates a 30-foot radius aura. You can also move this aura anywhere within 60 feet as a bonus action. The effect of the aura depends on which spirit you summon. The effect lasts for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated. They each carry a different type of perk for you, your party, and beings that you conjure:
The Unicorn Spirit helps creatures avoid and heal from damage.

Minor feature:
Pixie Dust: confusion and grants flight to other creatures.

Backstory: The Spark of the Glimmering Woods
Your fairy was born in the Twilight Glade, a hidden grove where fireflies light the air like stars and where laughter is considered a kind of magic. From the start, she was known for her mischievous spark—she could never resist swapping the hats of wandering travelers, tying shoelaces together with spider silk, or charming the woodland critters into elaborate pranks.

But one day, she stumbled upon something the other fairies avoided: a human traveler lost in the woods, weeping because they’d lost their way home. Instead of playing tricks, she helped them—glowing just brightly enough to guide them to safety. When she returned to the glade, the elder fairies whispered:
“The world beyond is calling her.”

That spark of kindness—mixed with her eternal curiosity—pushed her to leave her home. She wants to learn why mortals are so serious, why they treasure things that fade, and why danger lurks in so many corners of the world. She believes her pranks and joy aren’t just for fun, but a way to teach others not to take life too seriously.

Now she wanders, wings fluttering, a smile always playing on her lips. She’ll steal your spoon, dye your hair green in your sleep, or barter for secrets instead of gold—but in her heart, she’s trying to understand what it means to be a hero in a world that can be so heavy.
