Personal history

Born in the Beta Trianguli Australis system, the son of a social outcast and an escaped Imperial slave. Fled the Australe Commonwealth war and became a senior officer of Southern Cross High Guard.
 

Parents

Kron's father was the product of an illegal cloning operation that produced designer workers for terraforming projects - out in developing systems where the law has less of a presence.
 
The clone model number became Kron's father's only name when he bought out of his contract and obtained passage to the core systems.
 
There Twelve snr. attempted to become part of normal society. Prejudice against his genetic impurity, obvious from the bioelectronics embedded in his facial tissue, meant that didn't go well. He had to scrape a living from shady deals and marginal enterprises.
 
Living in the Andceeth system, Kron's maternal grandparents had fallen upon hard times while bankers and merchants made money off the backs of the unfortunate. They were sold into slavery to repay their debts, which passed to their children upon their deaths.
 
Kron's mother, Bev, slipped away from her owner's cruiser when docked at Correa Hostel, just as Twelve was delivering a few tonnes of illegal drugs for the tourists. They met in a loading bay, and saw in each other a kindred spirit.
 
Bev and Twelve mainly lived on haulers, until they eventually earned enough credits to buy a license to occupy a room at Veblen Vista in the system where they met.
 
When their son was born, they said "it's about time" and named him Kron. That being somewhat prosaic, they decided to latinize it to Kronius.
 

Victims of War

Refugees of the sudden war that destroyed the Australe faction in the year 3302, the family fled to the relative safety of United Systems Commonwealth (USC) on the fringes of human-occupied space. In such places people are more tolerant of those with doubtful genetics, judging more on merit than provenance.
 
There Kronius found a home for his talents driving home profitable deals and managing complex supply lines both overt and covert.

Kronius Twelve joined the Southern Cross High Guard (SCHG) in April 3304, and demonstrated dedication to the cause adjusting the political balance in systems to meet USC goals, by trucking goods and dealing to those who would interrupt deliveries.
 
He took opportunities as they arose, climbing through the ranks to lead SCHG's procurement, manufacturing and logistics operations.

Failures & Embarrassments

Pleiades Campaign

In 3305-6 then Captain Kronius participated in a war in the Pleiades, where SCHG assisted an underdog faction with links to Australe, HAAX. That campaign did not end well, as the opposition was a diverse association of organisations with thousands of pilots at their command.
 
It wasn't helped when negotiations fell under the shadow of a disinformation campaign that was believed by the wider community of the opposing side. Social media campaigns, video updates and inflammatory forum posts were used to depict HAAX as Thargophiles worthy of eradication. They were in fact, quite the opposite, and continuously ranked among the top ten groups fighting the alien scourge.
 
Intel leaked by a spy lurking in the HAAX Discord, quoting Kronius out of context and conveniently getting the dates wrong by 3 weeks, made it look like SCHG had initiated hostilities when in actuality the other side had covertly started the agression prior to the leak and the coversation was about how to respond. This incident was ignored during negotiations, which ended in stalemate.
 
HAAX lost all but its home system and continues to struggle even keeping posession of its stations there.
