Foxclaw

Weapon

Legendary Completed Quest: Blessing of a Demonlord Requires Attunement

Magic Weapon, Rapier

A slender rapier of impeccable craftsmanship, Foxclaw gleams silver-white, its blade honed to a razor edge and wrapped securely at the hilt in supple red leather. Intricately etched foxes dance fluidly along its polished surfaces - each figure caught mid-leap or frozen in playful cunning, their forms shifting subtly under moonlight or torch glow, as if alive. Forged in Red River by the master artisan known only as the Forgemaster, Foxclaw was shaped from strange and unyielding metal reclaimed from the shadowed dungeons of the Black Spire. Infused with magic older than time, the blade remains eternally pristine - no rust dulls its edge, and no blow seems capable of fracturing its slender form. Its pommel, fashioned from gleaming sungold, depicts the enigmatic visage of the Demonlord of Greed, her elegant yet unsettling features frozen in a knowing smirk. Ruby eyes sparkle mischievously from the pommel, radiating faint warmth as though the demon's avaricious gaze remains watchful. Her ancient essence seeps subtly through the weapon, granting its wielder uncanny agility, irresistible allure, and ruthless precision.

Foxhunt - For each 5 feet an opponent moves within melee range of you, you gain an attack of opportunity. When you successfully perform an attack of opportunity you may move 5 feet toward the target. This ability may repeat any amount of times per turn.

Foxpaw - Once per turn, as a reaction, you may move up to 30 feet.

Foxtail - Once per short rest, as a bonus action, you cloak yourself in illusion, becoming invisible until the start of your next turn or until you make an attack or cast a spell.

Foxfang - Once per turn, when you hit an opponent with Foxclaw, you may force the target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to 8 + proficiency bonus + Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, the target takes an additional 4d6 force damage and has their speed reduced by half until the end of their next turn.

Autumn Mask - Once per turn if you would be the target of a spell or ability, counter that spell or ability.

Armor Breaker - This weapon performs critical hits on natural 17, 18, 19, and 20 attack rolls. This weapon ignores bonus AC granted by non-magical sources.

Vixen - If the equipper of this weapon is a female character, you gain resistance to all damage types and immunity to charm and sleep.

Tod - If the equipper of this weapon is a male character, you gain additional AC equal to your attack modifier. When an opponent fails an attack against you, you may perform an attack against them.

Mark of Mammon - You may use Foxclaw as a spell catalyst. Spells you cast with Foxclaw cost money to cast in addition to their other costs.

Foxclaw is the magnus opus of the beastmen of Midas, and their greatest contribution to the war against the Queen of Curses.
